Chapter Philanthropy

Kappas national philanthropy is mental health and well being which we have transitioned to the past two years while still supporting our previous philanthropy, Reading Is Fundamental which supports children’s literacy in disadvantaged communities across the United States. Epsilon Mu has chosen to support the Jed Foundation for over two years now. The Jed Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting mental health awareness and suicide prevention for teens and young adults across the country. While supporting the Jed foundation, our philanthropic efforts have allowed members of our chapter to  become powerful advocates for mental health and well-being. Kappa is dedicated to raising awareness and reducing stigmas behind mental health and well-being through various fundraisers and service opportunities.

In the spring we hold an annual event known as Kappa Karnival, which is a community wide event, where we put on a real life carnival to support the Jed Foundation. We also implemented Chips, Cheese, & KKG’s, in which we partnered with our local Moe's.

Kappa’s philanthropies work to support our sisters here in Kappa as well. The Kappa Foundation was formed to help our sisters with whatever comes at them in life. The foundation can provide things such as scholarships for ongoing education programs or grants for disaster relief or emergency financial situations. Kappa also has a philanthropic program called Fleurish where we can create events for charities and organizations that members are particularly passionate about. If you want to give back to a cause, Kappa rallies behind you and makes that dream come true. Our members are involved in not only Kappa’s philanthropies but also tons of other organizations and events across campus and beyond.
