Beyond our national philanthropy, Reading Is Fundamental, our chapter hosts several events to benefit local organizations as well. One of our major philanthropy events is an all-male flag football tournament that brings groups from all over campus together to help raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation. In addition, every year we team up with the Crossroads Animal Shelter and bring dogs to campus that students can pay to "rent" for thirty minutes at a time. This event, called "Rent-A-Dog", has raised thousands of dollars, all of which directly benefit the local humane society. We also host multiple service events throughout the semester that range from volunteering at the animal shelter, to playing with children at the Helping Hands after-school program, to helping out at the local nursing home.
We pride ourselves on our involvement in other Greek chapter’s philanthropies. In the past we have competed in events such as bubble soccer tournaments, flag football tournaments, and even wing eating contests! These proceeds have all gone toward benefiting each respective chapter's philanthropies. We have also played a major role in helping raise money for Clemson Panhellenic's philanthropy Circle of Sisterhood, an organization that helps promote women's education in underdeveloped countries. We even have the privilege of sending two of our members to Africa with Circle of Sisterhood to help build a school.
